BLANCO's Innovative Apron Front Kitchen Sink Wins Golden A' Furniture Design Award

BLANCO's design team, led by Tim Maicher, Director of Marketing, and Brigette Ziemann, Head of Design, took inspiration from customer feedback. They heard the call for larger sinks, more counter space, apron fronts, and modern kitchen designs. Instead of creating multiple products, the team took it as a personal challenge to deliver all these features in a single product - the Profina.

The Profina stands out with its generous size, iconic farmhouse sink design, and innovative accessory ledge. This unique combination not only saves counter space but also fits seamlessly within modern kitchens. The contemporary style and slender 3/4 inch thick walls of the Profina blend the farmhouse trend with modern design, while the integral ledge provides added workspace for a cutting board and dish rack/colander.

The Profina is offered in two on-trend colors: White and Biscuit. It comes with a Beechwood Cutting Board, and additional accessories like a Bottom Grid and a Dish Rack can be purchased separately. The Dish Rack can rest on the accessory ledge, doubling as a colander. The sink's fireclay material allows for a perfect, smooth, and easy-to-clean surface, making it a practical and stylish addition to any kitchen.

Creating the Profina was not without its challenges. The BLANCO team had to push the limits of fireclay, a material known for its durability and aesthetic appeal, to realize their innovative design. The result is a product that not only meets the complex demands of today’s modern, hardworking kitchen but also sets new trends in design and functionality.
